The benefits we, and therefore you, receive from membership include having the backing of an association strongly committed to improving software quality standards in the business software industry. BASDA has established relationships with most of the major government departments, including HM Customs & Excise and the Inland Revenue, which take decisions affecting our industry. It is also working closely with the Bank of England and The Department of Trade and Industry on the plans for Economic and Monetary Union. It publishes 'good practice' Specification documents for members on many subjects including interpreting and implementing Value Added Tax (VAT) and Intrastat legislation and the Changeover to the Euro.
